BEST EYES At Jason Wu, M.A.C makeup guru Diane Kendal did a dark, geometric eye with an unexpected touch of gold pigment—a decadent nod to Wu’s Versailles-inspired collection. —Emily Hebert, beauty editor, ELLE.com

MOST CHANGED I always love Zero + Maria Cornejo, but Maria usually keeps things soft and über-hip. This season Maria took on tailoring and showed some of the most sophisticated, glamorous clothes I’ve ever seen. The colors were so refined. She made the idea of gorgeous cool. —Anne Slowey, fashion news director

CLASS CLOWN The Isaac Mizrahi show had models wearing poodlelike hair and walking dogs with blue and pink dyed fur. Male models dressed as bakers paraded down the runway holding sculptural cakes. Apparently they were filming an episode of TLC’s Cake Boss. No word on whether the National Geographic Channel’s Dogs With Jobs was present and taping. —Keith Pollock, editorial director, ELLE.com

BEST DRESSED I loved the plaid print at Altuzarra. Being that this is Joseph Altuzarra’s first collection using prints, the frayed plaid gave a chic grunge look to his sixth collection.—Jade Frampton, market editor

CUTEST COUPLE The shoe collection Nicolas Kirkwood designed in collaboration with the Rodarte girls for their fall 2011 collection is a perfectly executed take on idea of a modern prairie girl, the driving idea behind the girls’ ready-to-wear collection. Up close, the shoes’ intricate embroideries and artfully constructed silhouettes betray a more polished, modern sensibility, moving them from pure costumery to truly wearable options for fall. —Kate Davidson Hudson, accessories director

MOST DRAMATIC Thom Browne’s presentation made his dramatic collection appear 10 times more serious Canada Goose , but it was the red, white, and blue hoop skirt frame that really made my jaw drop. —Britt Aboutaleb, style news editor, ELLE.com

COOLEST HANGOUT Mister H, Armin Amiri’s new nightlife spot at the Mondrian SoHo, isn’t officially open until next week, but it was a great venue for parties this Fashion Week season. It has a cool Shanghai vibe and intimate spots to lounge yet boasts a massive dance area. —Sydney Wasserman, fashion and shopping editor, ELLE.com

MOST MUSICAL ” Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence FYI” by Utada Hikaru was the catchy song at the Ralph Lauren show that got me and Keith Pollock rocking out at 10 a.m. on the last day of Fashion Week, and it stayed in my head for hours. It was a sexy soundtrack to Ralph Lauren’s Asia-glam collection.” —Nick Axelrod, fashion news editor

BEST SMILE Bubblegum-pink lips for fall? Yes! To add a modern edge to Grace Kelly–esque hairstyles and clothing at Donna Karan, M.A.C makeup maestro Charlotte Tilbury dotted puckers with a mix of three M.A.C lipstick shades: Fleshpot, See Sheer, and Up the Amp. “I got the idea for the lip color from these light pink gloves in the collection,” says Tilbury. —Emily Hebert, beauty editor, ELLE.com

PARTY ANIMAL Alex Wang always has the best after-parties. This season he threw a smaller one than usual, with only about 100 guests in his newly opened SoHo store. People swung from a fox-fur hammock as Lauryn Hill performed an hour-long set. —Keith Pollock, editorial director, ELLE.com

MOST INVENTIVE Alexander Wang shows little clutches with fox-fur tails that were so cute. I think the miniature fur tails really added a special element of luxury and gave the little boxes a rock ‘n’ roll sort of vibe. —Kyle Anderson, senior accessories editor

MOST ATHLETIC We thought it took a lot of skill to walk down a runway in six-inch heels without tumbling to the ground, but that’s nothing compared with rappelling from the ceiling onto the runway. Think that’d never happen? It did, at Band of Outsiders’ A/W11 show (so if fashion paid attention to athletics, it’d win). – Britt Aboutaleb canadagooseonsale.biz , Style News Editor, ELLE.com

MOST LIKELY TO BECOME FAMOUS Proenza Schouler’s tribal gladiator sandals were one of the standout accessories in New York. As graphic from the front as from the back, these multitextured heels’ fringe detailing and diamond-weave construction echoed the modern Navajo feel that the Proenza boys were channeling in their ready-to-wear designs. Proenza turned out one of the most compelling statement heels for fall 2011, both in solid black and brighter red-yellow color-blocking. —Kate Davidson Hudson, accessories director

OVERACHIEVER At Alexandre Herchcovitch’s fall 2011 show, Bumble and bumble hairstylist Rolando Beauchamp unveiled a fresh take on the now-ubiquitous side braid. Unlike the single off-center twist from Alexander Wang’s spring 2010 catwalk, however, I think I’ll leave this daunting six-strand plait to the professionals! —Emily Hebert, beauty editor, ELLE.com

TEACHER’S PET Bette Midler and Michael Kors are like two peas in a pod, but Midler doesn’t show up to just any runway show. She took in Kors’ 30th-anniversary collection at Lincoln Center and then serenaded the designer backstage—that’s love! – Britt Aboutaleb, Style News Editor, ELLE.com

MOST ARTISTIC Most artistic is VPL by Vicki Bartlett. She always makes me rethink the body. In her hands sexy is a little intellectual, a little futuristic, and a good deal raw. That’s hard to pull off, but she does it in a completely original way! —Anne Slowey, fashion news director

BEST DANCERIt should say best dancers since 363 of them filled Grand Central station for Moncler’s unbelievable flash mob. They practiced for five days in total secrecy, under the guidance of Etienne Russo, and by the time they started rocking out to Barbra Streisand, the whole crowd wanted to join in. – Britt Aboutaleb, Style News Editor, ELLE.com

MOST OUTSPOKEN It’s not often that something can be both futuristic and classic at the same time. But the silver polished metal chokers at Michael Kors were the best jewelry of the New York runways and felt truly timeless. All the editors left the show saying the chokers were the chicest pieces ever. They could be really from any time period: ’60s, ’70s, ’80s,’90s, or now. We already have them here for a cover try. —Kyle Anderson, senior accessories editor

MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED Nahm, which is the line by Nary Manivong and Ally Hilfiger was very impressive. The fall collection comprised of riffs on the shirtdress in great subdued colors and very cool fabrics, including some pieces in polished wool. – Nick Axelrod, Fashion News Editor

MOST OUTGOING Waris Alhuwalia threw his first Fashion Week presentation, but even when he wasn’t showing off his own collection, Alhuwalia lent his support to friends throughout the week. He kicked off Fashion Week with the Citizens Band at the Wooly and then sat front row at shows like United Bamboo, Maria Cornejo, Theyskens Theory, Band of Outsiders, Cynthia Rowley, and Charlotte Ronson. – Britt Aboutaleb, Style News Editor, ELLE.com
